Fits 1995-2000 BMW M3 and Z3 M models with US-spec S50B30 or S52B32 engines.
This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is engineered to provide maximum sealing performance for high-output BMW engines without the need for additional sealants. Constructed from multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, it is designed to withstand the significant shearing forces created when mating aluminum heads to either aluminum or cast iron blocks. The stainless steel construction provides superior rebound characteristics and excellent corrosion resistance compared to standard composite gaskets.
The outer layers are coated on both sides with Viton, a high-temperature fluoroelastomer rubber capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). This specialized coating ensures a reliable seal across various surface finishes and load conditions, while the uncoated stainless steel center shim allows for precise thickness control. By requiring less clamp load than traditional gaskets, this MLS design helps minimize bore distortion for improved engine longevity and performance.
