This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is engineered to provide maximum sealing performance for high-output Honda D-series engines. Constructed from multiple layers of embossed stainless steel, this gasket is designed to withstand the high shearing forces created by aluminum-to-aluminum or aluminum-to-cast iron head and block combinations. Unlike composite gaskets, the MLS design is highly resilient, resisting corrosion and maintaining its ability to rebound under heavy load conditions without the need for additional sealants.

The outer layers are precision-embossed and coated with Viton, a high-performance fluoroelastomer that is heat-resistant up to 250°C (482°F). This specialized coating ensures a reliable seal across various surface finishes and load conditions while requiring less clamp load, which helps minimize bore distortion. The center shim layer is made of uncoated stainless steel, precision-manufactured to reach a specific compressed thickness for optimal combustion chamber volume.
