The Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket provides maximum sealing performance for high-output Honda engines. Designed to meet the demands of harsh sealing environments, this gasket is ideal for both aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-cast-iron engine interfaces. The MLS construction is specifically engineered to withstand the shearing forces created by these different materials, utilizing multiple layers of stainless steel to provide increased strength and the ability to rebound under high cylinder pressures.

This gasket features embossed outer layers coated on both sides with Viton, a fluoroelastomer rubber based material that is heat resistant to 250°C (482°F). The center shim layer is uncoated stainless steel, which can be varied during manufacturing to meet specific thickness requirements. Cometic MLS gaskets require no additional sealants and are designed to distribute clamping loads evenly, reducing bore distortion and improving ring seal.
