Fits 1992-2000 Honda Civic and 1993-1997 Honda Civic del Sol models. This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is engineered to provide a superior seal for high-output Honda SOHC engines, requiring no additional sealants for installation.
The C4196-030 features multiple layers of embossed stainless steel to withstand the different expansion rates and shearing forces between aluminum cylinder heads and engine blocks. The outer layers are coated on both sides with Viton, a fluoroelastomer rubber capable of resisting temperatures up to 250°C (482°F), ensuring a reliable seal even under harsh engine conditions and varying surface finishes. The center shim layer is uncoated stainless steel, providing the structural integrity needed to resist corrosion and rebound under pressure.
