Fits select 1994-2001 Acura Integra, Honda Civic, and Civic del Sol models with VTEC engines.
Engineered to meet the sealing demands of high-output engines, the Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket provides maximum sealing performance without the need for additional sealants. This gasket is constructed from multiple layers of embossed stainless steel to ensure durability and resistance to corrosion. The outer layers are coated with Viton, a high-performance fluoroelastomer capable of resisting temperatures up to 250°C (482°F), designed to maintain a seal across various surface finishes and load conditions.
The MLS design is ideal for aluminum-to-aluminum or aluminum-to-cast iron block configurations, as the stainless steel layers are designed to rebound and withstand the shearing forces created by different thermal expansion rates. This construction provides a consistent load distribution across the sealing area while requiring less clamp load, which helps reduce bore distortion.
