The Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) Head Gasket (C4182-051) is engineered to provide maximum sealing performance for high-output engines. Comprised of multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, this gasket offers superior strength, corrosion resistance, and the ability to rebound under extreme cylinder pressures. The outer layers are coated with Viton, a high-temperature fluoroelastomer rated to 250°C (482°F), allowing it to meet the demands of harsh sealing environments and various surface finishes without the need for additional sealants.

This gasket is ideal for both aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-cast iron engine blocks, as it effectively withstands the shearing forces created by differing thermal expansion rates. The multi-layer design ensures uniform load distribution across the sealing area, requiring less clamp load and subsequently reducing bore distortion.
