The Cometic MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) Head Gasket provides maximum sealing performance for high-output K-series engines. Engineered to withstand the extreme cylinder pressures of performance builds, this gasket features multiple embossed layers of stainless steel that resist corrosion and provide the necessary rebound to maintain a seal under heavy loads. Its multi-layer construction is specifically designed to handle the shearing forces created by the differing thermal expansion rates of aluminum heads and cast iron or aluminum blocks.

The outer layers of the C4300-030 are coated with a Viton fluoroelastomer rubber-based material, which is heat resistant up to 250°C (482°F). This specialized coating ensures a reliable seal across various surface finishes and operating conditions without the need for additional sealants. By requiring less clamp load than traditional gaskets, it also helps reduce bore distortion during installation.
