The Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket provides maximum sealing performance for high-output Honda K-Series engines. Engineered for both aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-cast-iron block configurations, this gasket effectively withstands the shearing forces created by different materials expanding at varied rates. The design requires no additional sealants and provides a uniform load distribution across the sealing area.

Construction consists of multiple embossed layers of stainless steel. The outer layers are coated on both sides with Viton, a fluoroelastomer rubber material heat resistant to 250°C (482°F), designed to meet the demands of harsh sealing environments and varied surface finishes. The uncoated stainless steel center shim layer provides structural integrity and maintains the specified compressed thickness while requiring less clamp load, which helps minimize cylinder bore distortion.
