The Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is engineered for high-output engines, providing a superior seal without the need for additional sealants. Constructed from multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, this gasket offers exceptional rebound capability and corrosion resistance. The outer layers are finished with a Viton rubber coating, a fluoroelastomer material that maintains its integrity in harsh sealing environments and resists temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). This design is specifically effective for sealing aluminum heads to either aluminum or cast iron blocks, as it withstands the shearing forces created by differing thermal expansion rates.
