The Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is engineered to provide superior sealing performance for high-output engines. Constructed from three layers of stainless steel, this gasket utilizes embossed outer layers coated in Viton—a fluoroelastomer rubber material heat resistant up to 250°C (482°F). This specialized coating ensures a reliable seal across a variety of surface finishes and load conditions.
Designed to handle the shearing forces common between aluminum heads and blocks, the MLS construction offers exceptional rebound and corrosion resistance. By requiring less clamp load than traditional gaskets, it helps minimize bore distortion for improved engine longevity and performance. No additional sealants are required for installation.
