Fits 1997-2001 Honda Prelude Base and Type SH models equipped with the H22-series engine.
This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is engineered to provide maximum sealing performance for high-output Honda engines. Constructed from multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, the outer layers are coated on both sides with a 0.25 micron thick Viton rubber (a fluoroelastomer) to ensure a superior seal across a variety of surface finishes and load conditions. The stainless steel composition allows the gasket to rebound under high cylinder pressures while resisting corrosion in harsh engine environments.
The MLS design is particularly effective for sealing aluminum cylinder heads to either aluminum or cast iron blocks, as it successfully withstands the shearing forces created by different thermal expansion rates. This gasket requires no additional sealants and utilizes a reduced clamp load to minimize bore distortion.
