Cometic MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) head gaskets are engineered to provide the superior sealing performance required by high-output engines. This gasket features a three-layer design with embossed outer layers of stainless steel coated on both sides with Viton, a heat-resistant fluoroelastomer. This construction allows the gasket to rebound and resist corrosion while withstanding the shearing forces common between aluminum heads and cast iron blocks.
The multi-layer design requires less clamp load than traditional gaskets, resulting in reduced bore distortion and more uniform load distribution across the sealing surface. With no additional sealants required, this gasket is an ideal choice for performance builds and standard engine refreshes alike.
