The Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is engineered to provide maximum sealing performance for high-load engine environments. Constructed from multiple layers of high-grade stainless steel, this gasket offers superior strength, corrosion resistance, and the ability to rebound under thermal cycling. The outer layers are embossed and coated on both sides with a Viton rubber material, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F).
This design requires less clamp load than traditional gaskets, which helps reduce bore distortion and ensures even load distribution across the entire sealing surface. The uncoated stainless steel center shim can be varied to accommodate specific thickness requirements for precise engine builds.
