The Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) Head Gasket is engineered for high-output turbocharged engines that demand superior sealing under extreme cylinder pressures. Constructed from multiple layers of embossed stainless steel, this gasket provides the necessary rebound and corrosion resistance to maintain a reliable seal between the cylinder head and engine block, even as thermal expansion causes shearing forces between the components.
The outer layers feature a Viton fluoroelastomer coating that is heat resistant to 250°C (482°F), designed to meet the demands of harsh sealing environments and various surface finishes. By utilizing a stainless shim layer, this gasket ensures precise thickness and requires less clamp load than traditional designs, resulting in reduced bore distortion and uniform load distribution across the sealing area. No additional sealants are required for installation.
