The Cometic MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) Head Gasket is engineered for maximum sealing performance in high-output engines. Constructed from multiple layers of embossed stainless steel, this gasket offers superior rebound and corrosion resistance. The outer layers are finished with a Viton rubber coating, a heat-resistant fluoroelastomer designed to withstand temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). This specialized coating ensures a reliable seal across various surface finishes and load conditions without the need for additional sealants.
Designed to handle the shearing forces between aluminum heads and cast iron or aluminum blocks, this gasket uses a reduced clamp load to minimize bore distortion while maintaining even distribution across the sealing area. The uncoated stainless steel shim layer provides precise thickness for consistent compression ratios and engine geometry.
