Fits select 1991-2004 Nissan 240SX, D21, Frontier, and Xterra models equipped with the KA24DE engine.
The Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is engineered to provide maximum sealing performance for high-output engines without the need for additional sealants. Constructed from multiple layers of embossed stainless steel, this gasket handles the high shearing forces generated by differing expansion rates in aluminum-to-iron or aluminum-to-aluminum head and block combinations. The stainless steel construction provides superior rebound properties and resists corrosion in harsh environments.
The outer layers are finished with a Viton rubber coating—a fluoroelastomer heat-resistant to 250°C (482°F)—designed to conform to various surface finishes and maintain a reliable seal under extreme load conditions. The multi-layer design also allows for a reduction in required clamp load, which helps prevent cylinder bore distortion.
