This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket provides a superior sealing solution for high-performance Nissan SR20 powerplants. Specifically designed for the S14 block, this gasket features both oil hole provisions to ensure compatibility and proper fluid flow. The MLS construction consists of embossed outer layers of stainless steel coated with a FKM (Viton) rubber-based material to meet the demands of harsh sealing environments and varying surface finishes.
The uncoated stainless steel center shim allows for precise thickness requirements while the overall design requires less clamp load than traditional gaskets. This reduction in clamp load results in less cylinder bore distortion, ensuring better ring seal and engine longevity under high-boost or high-compression conditions.
