Engineered for high-output applications, the Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket provides superior sealing performance without the need for additional sealants. This gasket is designed to withstand the significant shearing forces created by aluminum heads mated to either aluminum or cast iron blocks. Its multi-layer stainless steel construction offers increased strength and the ability to rebound under heavy load conditions while resisting corrosion.
The outer layers are embossed and coated on both sides with Viton, a fluoroelastomer rubber material that is heat resistant up to 250°C (482°F). This specialized coating ensures a reliable seal across various surface finishes and harsh environment conditions. By requiring less clamp load, this gasket helps minimize bore distortion and promotes uniform load distribution across the sealing surface.
