The Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket provides maximum sealing performance for high-output Subaru EJ25 DOHC engines. Constructed from three to five layers of high-grade stainless steel, this gasket is engineered for superior strength and the ability to rebound under extreme cylinder pressures. Each outer layer is embossed and coated with a specialized Viton rubber material that is heat resistant up to 250°C (482°F), ensuring a reliable seal across various surface finishes and load conditions.
The stainless steel center shim layer allows for precise thickness requirements while the overall design requires less clamp load than traditional gaskets, resulting in reduced bore distortion. This technical design ensures even load distribution across the entire sealing area, making it an essential upgrade for both performance builds and reliable OE replacements.
