Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gaskets are engineered to provide maximum sealing performance for high-output 2.0L engines. This gasket features a 83.5mm bore and a .086-inch compressed operating thickness. Constructed from multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, it provides the necessary rebound to resist corrosion and handle the shearing forces typical between aluminum heads and cast iron or aluminum blocks.

The outer layers are coated on both sides with Viton, a high-temp fluor elastomer capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). This advanced coating ensures a reliable seal across various surface finishes and load conditions without the need for additional sealants. The uncoated stainless steel center shim allows for precise thickness while promoting uniform load distribution across the sealing area to reduce bore distortion.
