The FOX 2.5 Performance Series Universal Smooth Body shock (987-24-038) delivers professional-grade damping for custom applications requiring 8.1 inches of travel. Built with a 2.5-inch impact-extruded 6061-T6 aluminum body, this shock dissipates heat more effectively than traditional steel bodies while providing superior corrosion resistance through its Type II clear-anodized finish.
Internally, the Internal Floating Piston (IFP) technology separates the high-pressure nitrogen gas from the shock oil to eliminate aeration and ensure fade-free performance in demanding environments. This model also features an integrated Hydraulic Top Out (HTO) piston for controlled extension. The high-flow, velocity-sensitive damping and 5/8-inch hard chrome plated shaft provide a connected ride with reduced vehicle sway.
