GiroDisc A1-318 2-piece floating rotors are designed as a high-performance direct replacement for the factory front discs. These rotors utilize a lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum hat mated to a proprietary high-carbon iron friction ring, significantly reducing unsprung weight and rotating mass to improve suspension response and acceleration. The slotted design ensures the brake pads remain clean and degassed, providing a consistent pedal feel under heavy thermal loads.
- Weight Reduction: 2-piece construction reduces unsprung weight compared to heavy cast-iron OE rotors.
- Enhanced Cooling: Features a curved vane internal design that acts as a centrifugal pump to pull cool air through the rotor.
- Premium Materials: Friction rings are cast from a proprietary high-carbon iron alloy for superior wear resistance and thermal stability.
- Serviceability: The floating design allows the friction ring to expand and contract independently of the hat, and the rings can be replaced while reusing the aluminum hats.
