The Koni Special Active 8045 Series is a premium twin-tube low-pressure gas shock designed to provide a compromise-free balance between handling and ride quality. By utilizing Koni's patented Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) technology, this shock mechanically adjusts its valving in real-time. It remains firm for controlled cornering and body roll management, while instantly softening to absorb high-frequency impacts from rough pavement and expansion joints.
This rear shock is finished in Koni signature red and serves as a direct-fit replacement for worn OE dampers on FWD MKIV platform vehicles. The specialized valving helps maintain tire contact with the road, improving both braking performance and steering response without the harshness often associated with performance suspension.
