The Mishimoto Performance Air-to-Water Intercooler is engineered to overcome the thermal limitations of the factory S55 cooling system. Built for high-boost applications, this intercooler features robust cast aluminum end tanks TIG-welded to a high-efficiency bar-and-plate core. The design includes internal air diverters on both the inlet and outlet side to ensure uniform airflow distribution across the core, preventing hot spots and maximizing heat transfer.

By expanding the core dimensions, Mishimoto achieved a 29% increase in total core volume without requiring any vehicle modifications for installation. The internal coolant passages utilize a unique single-pass fin layout to optimize thermal exchange between the charged air and the engine coolant. When paired with the Mishimoto Performance Heat Exchanger, testing showed a 12°F drop in intake air temperatures and a 16% increase in flow, resulting in average power gains of 11 whp and 8 wtq.
