Standard front license plate mounts on the MK8 GTI and Golf R sit directly in the center of the grille, obstructing airflow to the radiator and forcing you to drill into the front bumper. The Mishimoto License Plate Relocation Kit solves these issues by utilizing the factory front tow hook location for a secure, bolt-on installation that requires no permanent modifications to your vehicle.
Each kit is precision-fabricated from high-strength 6061-aluminum and features both an anodized and powder-coated finish for superior corrosion resistance and durability. By offsetting the plate to the side and angling it to follow the natural body lines of the bumper, this kit reduces wind resistance and opens the center grille to maximize cooling efficiency.
