The Mishimoto Performance Air Intake Kit is engineered to optimize airflow and induction sound for the 2012 BMW 328i (N20/N26 engines). This complete bolt-on system replaces the restrictive factory airbox with a high-flow oiled filter and a precision-engineered airbox, amplifying turbocharger spool and bypass valve (BPV) sounds without requiring a custom engine tune.
Construction features a 5052 aluminum airbox finished in a durable wrinkle black powder coat. This material choice reduces weight compared to steel and provides excellent corrosion resistance while shielding the intake charge from radiant engine bay heat. The design integrates perfectly with the factory intake duct to ensure the high-flow oiled filter receives a steady supply of cool ambient air. This reusable filter provides a larger surface area than the stock paper element for improved filtration and longevity.
