The Mishimoto MMOP-SPTR thermostatic oil sandwich plate is engineered for high-performance engines where oil temperature management and space constraints are critical. Constructed from CNC-machined 6061 billet aluminum, this high-flow plate features a rear-mounted thermostat design specifically intended for tight engine bays where exhaust manifolds or other components limit mounting depth.
The internal wax-pellet thermostat restricts oil flow to your heat exchanger until the activation temperature of 185°F (85°C) is reached. This allows the engine to reach operating temperature faster while ensuring efficient cooling once the oil is hot. For added utility, the plate includes two 1/8-inch NPT ports, providing convenient mounting points for oil temperature or pressure sensors.
