The Mishimoto Top-Mount Intercooler (TMIC) Kit is a performance-oriented upgrade for the Subaru EJ engine platform, engineered to replace the restrictive factory core and Y-pipe assembly. By utilizing a single-entry inlet tank design, this intercooler ensures maximum airflow and more uniform air dispersion through the core, resulting in significantly lower intake air temperatures (AITs) compared to the OE setup. The high-efficiency bar-and-plate core construction provides increased internal volume and superior heat transfer capabilities, supporting vehicle builds up to 350 hp.

In rigorous testing on a 305 hp STI running 20-22 psi of boost, this kit delivered a 14 hp gain and a 30°F reduction in AITs over the factory STI intercooler. The core is finished in a durable silver powder coat and paired with application-specific blue silicone hoses. This kit is a complete bolt-on solution requiring no vehicle modifications and includes all necessary hardware for a clean installation.
