Skunk2 Alpha Series Connecting Rods are engineered for high-horsepower builds, providing a superior strength-to-weight ratio for the Honda D16 platform. Forged from select 4340 chromoly steel, these rods utilize a straight H-beam design to handle the stresses of forced induction and high-RPM naturally aspirated applications. Each rod undergoes a rigorous manufacturing process, including comprehensive heat-treating, tempering, and shot-peening to reduce fatigue and ensure material consistency. To guarantee structural integrity, every rod is magna-flux inspected and balanced to within +/- 1 gram.
These "Long Rod" variants feature dual-pin oil passages for improved lubrication at the wrist pin, increasing durability under heavy loads. The bronze wrist pin bushings are compatible with most aftermarket pistons without the need for additional machining. Each set includes high-strength 3/8-inch ARP2000/Skunk2 bolts to ensure secure clamping under extreme cylinder pressures.
