The Wilwood 260-13706 is a "New Style" residual pressure valve designed to maintain a consistent 2 PSI of line pressure in disc brake systems. This valve is essential for vehicles where the master cylinder is mounted lower than the horizontal plane of the brake calipers, such as floor-mount configurations. By holding a small amount of pressure, it prevents fluid from draining back into the master cylinder due to gravity and vibration, which otherwise causes excessive piston retraction and a soft, long brake pedal stroke.
- Function: Maintains 2 PSI of pressure to prevent fluid drain-back without causing brake drag.
- Application: Specifically designed for disc brake systems (typically master-below-caliper setups).
- Construction: Manufactured from durable billet aluminum and color-coded blue for easy identification.
- Included Fittings: Supplied with two 1/8-27 NPT to 3/8-24 inverted flare female fittings compatible with most domestic 3/16-inch hard brake lines.
