Intake Spacers

Intake manifold spacers are thermal barriers inserted between the cylinder head(s) and the intake manifold. Their primary job is to reduce heat transfer from the hot engine into the intake manifold, lowering intake air temperatures and reducing heat soak. By keeping the air charge cooler and denser, these spacers can help maintain consistent power, improve throttle response, and in some cases increase torque—especially when the added runner length enhances mid-range cylinder filling.

Typical materials include high-temperature phenolic resin or billet aluminum with thermal-breaking gaskets. Many designs are precision CNC-machined for a flat, leak-free seal and come with the required hardware and gaskets. When selecting a spacer, consider its thickness, port-matching, and whether it requires longer studs or bolts. Whether you're chasing incremental gains on a street car or addressing heat-soak issues on a track build, an intake spacer is a straightforward, bolt-on upgrade that works silently every time the engine runs.
