I know it is stronger and looks better, but doesn't aluminum conduct more heat than plastic? A: On a technical standpoint, aluminum would be a little more subject the heat because it is metal, but, it is thin walled tubing, and would also dissipate the heat much faster as air is moving. The issue with a plastic intake, while it takes just as much time to heat up, it takes a considerable amount more time to dissipate that heat build up, also known as heat soak. We could easily out source our intakes like most other companies, but instead we choose to spend more time and effort to make these out of a much better material, in house with our own welders and materials. We have been testing and running these for quite some time, and have out performed every other intake we have put it up against.

Designed for the 2011-2014 Mustang GT 5.0L V8, 2012-2013 Boss 302 5.0L V8, and 2010 Mustang GT 4.6L V8, this ROUSH Cold Air Intake Kit includes a high-flow air filter (oiled) with clamp, new MAF tube, airbox tray with installed EPDM foam hood seal, heat extractor foam insert (for 2013-2014 users), and all required mounting hardware. The benefits of this kit include reduced pressure drop and increased performance and efficiency. Both the tray and MAF tube are manufactured using OE-quality materials (30% glass-filled polypropylene) and tooling (fully CNC machined hardened steel plastic injection molds). These provide excellent dimensional capability, stability, and long term durability and performance. This kit uses factory mounting locations and hardware, for quick and easy installation, and maintains OE clearances to all nearby components and hardware. This Mustang Cold Air Intake Kit from ROUSH fits 2005-2009 models with the 4.0L V6 Engine, and features the ROUSH air filter, air dam and induction tube. The ROUSH air filter media is a synthetic nano-fiber material that traps the smallest dirt particles that ordinary cotton-gauze performance filters canisters capture. Based on SAE standards, ROUSH air filters capture almost twice the percentage of 2 micron particulates, and more than six times the amount of 0.5 micron particulates than our competitors filters. .This ROUSH air filter is 100% washable, reusable and features a lifetime warranty. Once air passed through the filter, it is taken to the engine through a Modular Intake Tube (MIT) that can improve airflow up to 400 CFM over the restrictive stock intake tube. Made from cross-linked, high-density polyethylene, the MIT straightens out air flow by providing a smooth, unrestricted path that increases air flow to the engine.
