These Whiteline front lower control arms feature significant geometry gains with -1.0deg camber and +0.75deg caster improvements into these arms to optimise wheel alignments settings for track performance. Caster increases dynamic negative camber on the outside wheel whilst turning, offering more grip without introducing the tyre wear associated with static negative camber. Furthermore the increase in caster improves traction and increases the self-centring effect of the steering. Throw this altogether and the small change in additional caster improves the front-end grip and handling considerably. Whiteline's rear mounted bushing combines the superior mechanical properties of synthetic elastomer formulation with high quality sealed bearing assembly permitting smooth movement of the arm as the wheel moves up and down. Complemented by a front bushing utilizing an oversized heavy duty crush tube, resulting in dramatic improvements to steering precision, most not iceably reduced 'toe-change' during hard cornering, creating impressive turn-in ability! The more positive location of the arm through the range of suspension movement and gains in alignment geometry ensures the car feels more responsive and engaging at turn-in, mid corner and corner exit.

The S197 chassis third link set up has suffered from brake hop and axle tramp with the stock arm and the ultra-compliant stock bushing is designed for comfort and leaves something desired for performance driving. Whiteline's upper control arm is built with 4130 Chromalloy and features the longer arm length which Ford incorporated in the 2011 change which reduces brake hop. The synthetic elastomer bushing adds increased stability to the rear end without the harshness of the commonly used bearing design and features and eccentric crush tube which allows pinion angle / instant center adjustment without weakening the arm with a turnbuckle adjustment. The pinhole voiding feature allows the bushing to articulate without binding. The heavy duty mount adds to the increased rigidity of the arm and is designed to be universal for all years of the S197 chassis.

The Ultra Series LCA's are based off of the same technology the company's been using in its own race cars for 20 years. Skunk2's Rear Lower Control Arms are direct replacements, maintain OEM suspension geometry, and are ideal for street and race applications. The Ultra Series Lower Control Arm offers the hardcore racer and discerning enthusiast, the very best of the best. In a market full of 'Me Too' Product, and recycled, annealed lower control arms, we took the Lower Control Arm back to the drawing board. Often not used due to the higher cost, we chose 7075-T6 because of its exceptional strength to weight ratio and fatigue strength. With an ultimate tensile strength of over 78,000 PSI, and fatigue strength of 23,000 psi for 500 million cycles – This is the perfect material for our game changing Ultra LCA's. The result of our hard work is a 7075-T6 Forged Aluminum LCA, that is 19% lighter and 27% stronger than our previous generation of LCA's. Accurate suspension geometry is maintained under the most aggressive driving conditions using high load steel spherical bearings on the trailing arm side and tuned durometer elastomeric bushings for the sub frame side of the LCA. Delrin bushings are utilized at the shock mounting position for their low friction and minimal deflection for unparalleled dynamic shock control. Using this select combination of bushings allows the most comfort and control under any driving conditions. For hardcore race level handling, we have also added the option to replace the sub frame side elastomeric bushing with a high load steel spherical bushing for a no-nonsense track car. UMI Performance extended length control arms are designed to center the rear wheels of the Impala SS correctly within the wheel well. These control arms feature a 5/8” extension with added adjustment capabilities for precise centering of the rear end. Users can further adjust the length of the control arms by an additional ¼” beyond the initial extension. Made from 1.500” DOM tubing and fully TIG welded for maximum strength, these control arms also provide provisions for attaching a stock or aftermarket sway bar. The sway bar holes are reinforced with a 0.120” steel sleeve that is TIG welded and sanded in place. A billet aluminum spacer is used to attach the sway bar to the control arms in the factory location. Please note that depending on ride height variations, a longer driveshaft may be necessary when using these extended length control arms. This control arm setup is compatible with UMI Performance weld-in relocation brackets, part #3610. Rotating the sway bar spacer block on top of the control arms allows the relocation brackets to be used while reinstalling the sway bar. Installation typically takes 1-2 hours using OEM hardware. Rear control arms are one of the most important suspension modifications that can be done to your GM vehicle. Stock control arms are on the borderline of "junk", bushing deflection and rusting weak stamped material add for traction loss and poor handling ability. Our tubular control arms are designed to give you the best of both worlds, whether your car is a weekend cruiser or a weekend track addict we got you covered. The included high quality polyurethane bushings are an excellent improvement over OEM rubber bushings, while adding ride improvements they also work excellent to reduce traction loss. These control arms are a direct bolt-on replacement designed to minimize wheel hop, improve cornering and help track consistency. Lower control arms are supplied with sway bar mounting holes designed for your stock sway bar and most aftermarket bars.
