The AEM 21-786C Performance Cold Air Intake System is engineered to increase horsepower and torque by replacing the restrictive factory air box and paper filter. This system features mandrel-bent aluminum intake tubing with a durable gunmetal gray powder-coated finish, designed to maintain smooth, laminar airflow into the engine. To ensure a precision fit within the compact ND Miata engine bay, this kit includes a custom-designed aluminum coolant overflow reservoir that replaces the bulky factory plastic unit.

At the heart of this system is an oversized AEM Dryflow synthetic air filter. This oil-free, washable media provides excellent filtration efficiency and can go up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is required, depending on driving conditions. The filter is protected by a dedicated heat shield designed to isolate the intake air from radiant engine bay heat, helping to maintain lower intake air temperatures (IATs) for more consistent performance.
