The ARP 203-4205 Head Stud Kit provides the superior clamping force required to maintain a reliable cylinder head seal on the 2JZ platform. These high-strength fasteners are a critical upgrade for any performance build, offering significantly more stability than factory head bolts which can stretch under high cylinder pressures, leading to head gasket failure.
By using studs rather than bolts, you ensure more accurate torque loading. The studs are threaded into the block, allowing the head to be positioned onto the studs and secured with nuts, which eliminates the twisting force applied to the fastener during the torquing process. This results in a more consistent and even distribution of pressure across the head gasket surface.
