The ARP 238-4201 Cylinder Head Stud Kit provides the essential clamping force required to maintain a reliable seal in Caterpillar C15 engines. Unlike factory head bolts that can stretch and lead to head gasket failure under high cylinder pressures or extreme thermal cycles, these fasteners are engineered to remain stable. By using studs instead of bolts, you achieve more accurate torque loading as the fastener isn't twisting into the block; it is only stretched on the vertical axis.
Each stud is manufactured from premium alloy steel, heat-treated for maximum tensile strength, and features threads rolled after heat treatment to ensure superior fatigue resistance. The kit includes 12-point nuts and hardened, parallel-ground washers to ensure even load distribution across the cylinder head surface.
