High-performance personal watercraft engines demand superior clamping force to maintain head gasket integrity, especially under the increased cylinder pressures of a supercharged 255-series engine. This ARP (168-4201) Engine Head Stud Kit replaces the factory torque-to-yield bolts with high-strength studs that provide more consistent torque loading and prevent head lifting.
Each fastener is manufactured from premium 8740 chromoly steel and heat-treated to a 200,000 psi tensile strength rating. Unlike lesser fasteners, ARP threads are rolled after heat treatment, which provides significantly better fatigue resistance. This kit is essential for any performance build or engine rebuild where reliability is the priority.
