The AutoMeter 9117 Tach Adapter is a specialized signal converter designed for vehicles equipped with modern distributorless ignition systems (DIS) or coil-per-cylinder setups. This module installs into the ignition system power supply to sense current and generate a conventional 12V square wave signal output. This allows for the seamless integration of AutoMeter tachometers and aftermarket RPM-activated devices in vehicles where a traditional tach signal is not available.
Built to withstand harsh engine bay environments, the module features a fully potted, environmentally sealed housing that is both weatherproof and vibration-resistant. It is a critical component for late-model engine swaps and high-performance builds requiring accurate RPM data from electronic ignition systems.
