The Banks Monster-Ram Turbo Inlet Elbow is engineered to eliminate the flow restrictions found in the factory intake tract of the Duramax L5P. By increasing the inlet size by 17% and providing a 23% greater volume (Gulp Capacity), this cast aluminum elbow improves air density to the compressor. This optimization results in a 11.9% increase in mass air flow and an 11% reduction in turbo drive pressure compared to the stock component.

Designed to improve throttle response and extend turbocharger longevity, the Monster-Ram achieves these gains by reducing turbo shaft speed and shortening the time to boost. Unlike some aftermarket alternatives, this inlet is specifically tuned to prevent destructive turbo surge while retaining factory PCV geometry for a seamless installation.
