The Borla CrateMuffler (part number 400840) is the industry's first muffler engineered specifically to optimize the acoustic profile and power delivery of SBC Hot 350 and 383 crate engines. Unlike universal mufflers, the CrateMuffler series is precision-tuned for specific engine families to dramatically reduce or eliminate exhaust drone on specified applications.
Constructed from premium T-304 stainless steel, this muffler offers superior corrosion resistance and longevity compared to standard T-400 series (409) alternatives. The directional design features CNC-manufactured internals to ensure an accurate fit and consistent performance. Installation is straightforward, though the unit is flow-specific; the outlet is easily identified by the mounting bracket welded directly to the endcap.
