The Cometic MLX (Multi-Layer Extreme) head gasket is engineered for high-performance sealing in the most demanding engine environments. This gasket is comprised of three to five layers of stainless steel, providing increased strength, excellent rebound characteristics, and superior resistance to corrosion. The outer layers are embossed and dual-side coated with a proprietary Viton rubber, designed to maintain a reliable seal across various surface finishes and load conditions.
By utilizing the MLX design, this gasket provides an improved clamp load around the cylinder bore without increasing bore distortion. The integrated Viton coating is heat resistant to 250°C (482°F), making it an ideal choice for high-stress applications that require maximum thermal stability and sealing integrity.
