The Cometic MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) head gasket is engineered for superior sealing performance in high-demand automotive environments. Constructed from multiple layers of high-grade stainless steel, this gasket provides increased strength, excellent rebound characteristics, and long-term corrosion resistance. The outer layers are precision-embossed and coated on both sides with a Viton rubber material, ensuring a reliable seal across a variety of surface finishes and load conditions.
This design is specifically developed to require less clamp load than traditional gaskets, which helps reduce cylinder bore distortion while maintaining uniform load distribution across the sealing area. The Viton coating is rated for heat resistance up to 250°C (482°F), making it suitable for both performance street and track applications.
