The Cometic MLX (Multi-Layer Stopper) head gasket is engineered for high-output BMW engines that demand superior sealing under extreme cylinder pressures. This gasket utilizes an integrated stopper layer to provide a primary combustion seal, improving clamp load around the cylinder without increasing bore distortion. Constructed from multiple layers of embossed stainless steel, it provides the necessary rebound and corrosion resistance to withstand the shearing forces between aluminum heads and blocks.
Each outer layer is coated with Viton, a fluoroelastomer rubber capable of resisting temperatures up to 250°C (482°F), ensuring a reliable seal across various surface finishes and load conditions. Designed for professional engine builds, this gasket requires no additional sealants for installation.
