Fits select 1991-2016 Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and Mobility Ventures vehicles (4.6L).
Engineered for high-output environments, the Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket provides maximum sealing performance without the need for additional sealants. This left-side gasket is constructed from multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, designed to rebound and resist corrosion while withstanding the shearing forces common in engines featuring aluminum heads mated to either aluminum or cast iron blocks.
The outer layers are finished with a Viton coating—a heat-resistant fluoroelastomer capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). This specialized coating ensures a reliable seal across various surface finishes and load conditions. By requiring less clamp load than traditional gaskets, the MLS design helps reduce bore distortion and promotes even load distribution across the sealing surface.
