This Cometic MLX (Multi-Layer Steel Xtreme) head gasket fits 2006-2015 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and Corvette Z06/427 models equipped with the 7.0L Gen-4 LS7 Small Block V8 engine. Engineered for high-output applications, the MLX design provides superior sealing performance without the need for additional sealants, effectively handling the shearing forces created by aluminum heads on both aluminum and cast iron blocks.
The MLX series incorporates an integrated stopper layer to improve clamp load around the cylinder bore without increasing distortion. Constructed from multiple layers of embossed stainless steel, these gaskets offer excellent rebound and corrosion resistance. The outer layers are finished with a Viton coating—a fluoroelastomer rubber capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F)—to ensure a reliable seal across a wide range of surface finishes and load conditions.
