Fits select 1990-2001 Honda CR-V and Prelude models equipped with LS/VTEC hybrid engine builds (non-VTEC block with VTEC cylinder head).
Engineered for high-output "Frankenstein" builds, the Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket provides a superior seal for engines using 81.5mm bores. This gasket is specifically designed to bridge the oiling and cooling passages between a non-VTEC bottom end and a VTEC cylinder head, requiring no additional sealants. The MLS construction features multiple layers of stainless steel to manage the shearing forces created by different expansion rates in aluminum and cast iron components.
The outer layers are embossed and finished with a Viton rubber coating, a fluoroelastomer material that is heat resistant up to 250°C (482°F). This specialized coating ensures a reliable seal across various surface finishes and load conditions, while the uncoated stainless steel shim layer allows for precise thickness management to achieve your desired compression ratio.
