The Cometic MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) Head Gasket is engineered for high-output engines that demand superior sealing performance under extreme cylinder pressures. Comprised of multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, this gasket provides excellent rebound characteristics and resists corrosion better than traditional composite materials. The outer layers are coated on both sides with Viton, a heat-resistant fluoroelastomer capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F).

This MLS design is ideal for both aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-cast iron engine configurations, as the layered construction effectively manages the shearing forces created by different thermal expansion rates. The design requires no additional sealants and uses a lower clamp load to minimize bore distortion, ensuring a precise and reliable seal across the entire surface area.
