The Cometic MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) Head Gasket is engineered for high-output K-series engines that demand superior sealing under extreme cylinder pressures. Constructed from multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, this gasket provides the necessary rebound and corrosion resistance to maintain a reliable seal. The outer layers are coated with Viton, a high-temperature fluoroelastomer capable of withstanding environments up to 250°C (482°F).
Designed to handle the shearing forces between aluminum heads and blocks, this gasket requires less clamp load than composite alternatives, resulting in reduced bore distortion and more even load distribution across the sealing surface. No additional sealants are required for installation.
