Cometic MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) head gaskets are engineered to provide maximum sealing performance for high-output Honda K-series engines. Constructed from multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, these gaskets provide the necessary rebound to resist corrosion and maintain a high-pressure seal even under extreme load. The outer layers are coated on both sides with a 0.25 micron Viton elastomer, a heat-resistant material capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F).
Designed for both aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-iron applications, the Cometic C14039-051 handles the shearing forces created by different thermal expansion rates. This gasket requires no additional sealants and uses a precision-engineered shim layer to achieve its specific thickness, ensuring uniform load distribution and reduced bore distortion.
