Engineered for high-output applications, the Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket provides superior sealing performance without the need for additional sealants. This gasket is constructed from multiple embossed layers of high-grade stainless steel. The outer layers are coated on both sides with Viton, a fluoroelastomer rubber capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F), ensuring a reliable seal even in harsh combustion environments.
The MLS design is specifically tailored to handle the shearing forces found in modern engines, making it an ideal choice for both aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-cast-iron mating surfaces. By requiring less clamp load than traditional gaskets, it helps minimize bore distortion and promotes even load distribution across the entire sealing area.
